Here is some good news!
The IEEE Student Branches in in partnership with “Women in IT” - WIT -joined forces to organize the first Women in Engineering - WIE - event titled "Different Career paths in Engineering & Technology" on Saturday 8 March 2008 at NDU campus.
Thanks to great work and effort, IEEE won the “NDU most professionally organized event for 2008” for the above mentioned workshop organized with WIT. This award category recognizes excellence in organization and planning. It demonstrates also the ability to reach the right people with the right information at the right time.
Five technical sessions allowed successful women in technology careers to share their experience with more then 80 students coming from different IEEE Branches in
, from NDU, BAU, LAU and AUB. The speakers included Hala Makarem (independent consultant), Tania Saba-Mazraani (Berytech), Odile Abou Mrad (Computer Associates), Maysa Yaman (Cedarcom), and Nathalie Awad - Vera Boyadjian (New Horizons).
We, at WIT, were very pleased to work with young engineering students with this high level of professionalism. Our sincere appreciation goes to all who made this event a great success. We truly thank you for all your efforts and support.
