Crisis Group is seeking an intern to work at its Brussels headquarters from starting in July/August 2010 and working closely with staff working on Crisis Group’s website and its Research Unit. The intern should expect to divide his or her time roughly equally between web and research tasks. The internship would suit a broad range of candidates including those with interests and experience in some combination and preferably many of the following: international relations conflict studies government new media photography web design and development.

The Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

  1. Review the existing content on the Jordan Beehive http://Jordan.theBeehive.org and United States Beehive http://www.theBeehive.org and determine which content is applicable to Lebanon.
  2. Research local resources that will be relevant for lowincome Lebanese users and write original content on the following Beehive topics: money health jobs school entrepreneurship agriculture housing and government.
  3. Seek out new content by cultivating relationships with local NGOs researching online for strong Lebanese websites and that feature content in the identified Beehive topic areas and cultivating relationships with them.
  4. Follow up with local NGO partners and subject matter experts to determine which local content they can contribute to Lebanon Beehive acquire & edit the content.
  5. Acquire appropriate local photography to use throughout the website.
  6. Upload all content onto the Lebanon Beehive using One Global Economy’s Content Management System.
  7. Maintain open communication with One Global Economy/affiliate web developers during the content creation process.
  8. Maintain open communication with One Global Economy and Digital Opportunity Trust on site in Lebanon for the approval of content milestones and deliverables.

Deliverables will include:
