Working women with a hudge amount of responsibilities appears as everlastingly chasing time. The schedule for the busy working mom requires not less than being a “superwoman”. You have to buy baby diaper, meet important client, shop for groceries, visit mom, board meeting, prepare report, take baby to the doctor for his jab, cooking ,cleaning, helping with homeworks, take kids to their activities… Besides, working women and particularly working moms must face extra social and economical obstacles that do not make things easy to get along with. This fact adds to women responsibilities at home as wives and mothers subject them to extra pressure in their active participation in public affairs and job’s activities. Here are some tips to help you gain this challenging position of being a spouse , a mother, a housekeeper with a brillant carreer:
Ask your spouse and kids to help you. If mother makes all of the nursing and some of the money, dad needs to share in the childcare and housework. School- age children should also share in the housework.. Delegate all the household chores that could be done by someone else other than you. Don't cry over spilled milk, take the baby to the sitter's in his pajamas, and do not try to make every thing perfectly done. If your children are old enough, encourage them to always do their own things themselves, like picking the toys up, setting the table, cleaning the table, washing the dishes, taking their own baths, changing their own clothes... make your children arrange and pack their clothing, bag, books for school before going to bed and check it before you go to sleep. When your children start doing things themselves, they would probably leave a few things behind, and even if it doesn’t fit your expectationsit would do you a lot of good. Make getting to bed at a reasonable hour a priority. This will leaves you more time to do other things.
Home alone
In case your children may stay alone for a while it is recommended to teach them some basic rules. It is also important to discuss all about potential dangers and safety instructions. No company and no exceptions. the doors must be locked at all times. No friends during parents’ absence.. Establishing Rules including homework and chores, using the phone, computer or kitchen appliances…and being firm is the only way to success
Shopping list
This is an important thing to do. Make a list of things you have to buy for a week so you will go to the store once a week. The list will save you the second trip to the store in the late night to get bread for breakfast, diapers or milk for baby. Take your time and make sure you got it all. Ask everyone that every time something runs out, as well as their personal needs, to note it down this will be much easier for you.
Work attitude
Be social ,Get your name and face in front by attending political receptions, fund-raisers, company events, meetings, and serving on boards it is a great way to meet others in your profession.
Attempt to be discreet in the workplace.
Avoid water cooler talk.
Always be well groomed and presentable if you want your colleagues to always treat you seriously and respect you.
Get experience outside of the office. There are community positions you can volunteer for if you lack experience. Surround yourself with positive people. People you can count on when you fall.
Use humor. Laugh off any teasing that comes your way instead of showing anger.
Listen with sympathetic interest when co-workers share their stories.
Always have a Plan B. Continuously develop skills that can lead to another career by taking courses, seminars, and workshops to stay on top of industry trends.
An organizer
If you never needed an organizer before, you will need one now. This small book will be certainly your best friend. Plan everything. Be sure to put everything down to the tee, from changing motor oil, to buying baby diaper, shopping list, kids’ activities and surfing the internet... Plan Meals Ahead. Prioritize your list, put important things and priorities on the top of your list, than make a list of what could be reported when something’s bound, or what could be done from someone else, if it should be done anyway.
Teach Cleanup
There are things even 3-year-olds can do. Teach your kids to clean up toys, hang up coats, stow shoes or make beds. Explain to kids that dirty clothes go directly in the hamper. In the kitchen younger one can help bringing plates to the table while elder can load the dishwasher… this will be very helpful for you . even if chores are not perfectly done don’t urge to fix things after they are done this will discourage them, after all they are learning.
Memory problems
You got so many chores to do so that you almost forget about it all. Get for you a small spiral notebook and start writing down everything you need to do now, next week, yesterday and next month. You’ll think more clearly and accomplish more. Carry the notebook with you and add to it continually. Make a list for shopping and add items as soon as there’s no left. If you got a helper use sticky notes and post it on the fridge, it will be easier for you when you should give all instructions. Check your list every day and remove all accomplished tasks.
De-cutler your environment
Reduce your paper piles at home; walk straight from the mail box to the trash box and get rid of all papers you don’t need. Make a "hold" file for every kind of bill or paper you may need later. Allow newspapers to remain in the house only for a specific number of days. At the end of that period, dispose of them, read or not. Once a week, remove at least one item which you don't use at least monthly. Do not keep any thing for a “maybe” later use. if you can’t throw away clothes or toys or any thing that affects you on an emotional plan but you don’t need no longer , donate it this will help you to feel better.
Plan Meals Ahead
Make only one shopping trip per week to buy ingredients. opt for easy and fast coking. Double the recipe and freeze half for another meal. It is a good idea to freeze anything and everything that you cook...food, porridge, stew, soup...anything! Once every two weeks you may cook double or more quantities of meats, sauces and vegetables that you separate in portions and freeze for later. This will make gain a lot of time and will permits to prepare a big choice by assorting them differently. Keep lasagnas or other one-dish meals in the freezer for nights when you don't feel like cooking, or when your relative or parents decided to make an unannounced visit to your place. Designate your most hectic night as order-out night and get some delivery. Have the kids make dinner one night a week if they are old enough.
Get ready
Choose for you a daily make up; Easy, fast and light. Keep all what you need in a small pocket you can carry with you for retouch. Iron your clothing prepare all accessories you need so that you just slip into on your way to the door. Chose a daily bag that fits with your wardrobe and with your needs (size, color…) keep your bag organized. Make a list of all the items that you absolutely need each day in this bag and remove the rest. Finally keep your keys within reach in a define place, there’s no time for searching.
